Creating campaigns for Five Below took a lot of brainstorming and a thorough understanding of what clicks with gen z and millennials. It was all about finding ideas that feel fun, fresh, and totally in on the joke. Basically, the kind of content that doesn’t just sell, but fits right into their feeds.I was the writer for Five Below’s 2025 back-to-school campaign! My art director partner, Brittny Delisser, and I teamed up to concept six spots highlighting back-to-school gear and clothes.
"New Year, New Gear": Promoting School Accessories
Concept: It’s a new school year and it’s time for new gear.
Thankfully Five Below has everything you need to be
back and better than ever. We’ll follow students throughout
their first day, highlighting our backpacks, school supplies, and other items in a fun way.
"Make Your Mark": Promoting School Accessories
Concept: There’s no better way to make your mark this year than
by personalizing your backpack. With Five Below’s
keychains, patches and pins, students can allow their
individual personality to shine through any
way they see fit.
"Classroom Legends": Promoting Teacher School Accessories
Concept: It's time to recognize our teachers. The true heroes of every school year. The classroom legends who hold the semester together. We'll create
an "ode" appreciating that one extra special teacher as they do the
things that make students appreciate them.
"Lock In to Your Study Sesh": Promoting Deskcaping Accessories
Concept: When it’s time to study, your desk should always match your
energy. We’ll use three desks to showcase the different
vibes you can bring to your study session.
"Tech It Out": Promoting Back To School Tech
Concept: Before you can text, snap, or share your first-day-of school look, you need to secure your back-to-school
accessories... tech accessories that is.
In this video, we’ll cycle through different chargers, phone
cases, and laptop cases that pair with various aesthetics.
The shots will be paired with supers that suggest
the action taken from that product when attaching to its
respective device.
"Your Year, Your Way": Promoting Back To School Graphic Tees
Concept: This one is all about showing up as you this school year.
Five Below’s $5 graphic tees allows you to do that without breaking the bank.
We’ll execute this by showing a kid getting ready for school in the morning
through a fisheye lens, just being effortlessly cool and showing off their
different Five Below tees.

I was an O'Miami Greenhouse fellow in summer '24, and I enjoyed every minute of it! The program supports emerging Miami creatives by fostering professional growth, creative exploration, and wellness over a carefully structured 10-week season. Years of journalism coursework had pulled me away from my own creative work, but the Greenhouse brought me back to poetry. Workshops and genuine mentorship from program directors and co-fellows gave me the space and encouragement I needed to write authentically.I left with new friendships among writers, a collaborative poetry zine, and access to mentorship that continues to shape my practice.

For Jet's Pizza, I write the words that make people hungry. From punchy e-blasts and banners to organic social posts and radio/tv scripts, my goal is to keep Jet’s bold, no-nonsense voice front and center, whether it’s a one-liner that makes you laugh or a deal that gets you to order.
RanchFest is Jet’s Pizza’s love letter to ranch lovers everywhere. It is a weeklong celebration in March for fans who are unapologetically obsessed. This year, we went bigger by turning RanchFest into a music festival-inspired moment and building FOMO through exclusive, festival-style giveaways and limited-time deals. This was a major brand activation, with one of our biggest wins being the involvement of Detroit-based musicians who created original ranch-inspired tracks, bringing the campaign to life in an unexpected and culturally relevant way.
^ a slideshow of giveaways was shared across all of Jet’s social platforms, generating strong engagement on each post. audiences actively participated in the entry steps for a chance to win exclusive merch, driving high interaction and excitement throughout the campaign.
^ we were able to collaborate with a few Detroit-based musicians to create music that were all about our Jet's cult classic: ranch. my art director partners susan dorta and jorge benitez put together a video parodying 90s "now that's what i call music" commercials to lean into the nostalgia trend on social.
The objective for Jet's Pizza's social media is to build unified and crave-driven platforms that fully leverage the "It's Not Pizza. It's Jet's." campaign to maximize reach, relevance, and results across both paid and owned channels. While on the Jet's Pizza account, I help to create content that works hard across all platforms, elevates brand distinctiveness, and concept ideas that answer the question: "Could this only be Jet's?"When I write the post-copy for each post, I ensure that the copy and assets work for each individual platform.
⟢ This post was designed to parody the “almost forgot this was the whole point” trend on social. We wanted to tap into a recognizable internet moment while positioning a Jet’s classic item as the true highlight of the experience.post copyTT: Protecting our energy... and our 4 Corner.IG: Healing... but with a 4 Corner in hand.
⟢ Inspired by Super Bowl watch parties, we wanted to create a video that kept Jet’s top of mind as the go-to order for game day while also delivering a relatable social moment audiences could instantly connect with. And I mean, c'mon... we all know that one guy.post copyIG: We all know that guy. Tag 'em below.
⟢ This post was created to celebrate the idea that you have free will, so go ahead and make a Jet’s Pizza Popcorn Chicken Salad... because why not? It also taps into a growing social sentiment that we don’t have to be bound by what things are supposed to be, and can instead embrace playful, unexpected choices.post copyIG: Mix 'N' Match Salad, anyone?
⟢ To play off the universal truth that movie theater food is overpriced and underwhelming, we made a video showing why sneaking in Jet’s is so worth it!post copyFB: Worth it? Absolutely.IG: Jet's so good, we risked it at the theater.TT: Jet’s made us do it.
⟢ This post was created to emphasize that Jet's fan-favorite dressing goes way beyond pizza. Put it on anything!post copyFB: Can confirm everything tastes better with Jet’s Ranch.IG: Name something Jet’s Ranch can’t improve. We’ll wait.TT: Jet’s Ranch. It’s a lifestyle.X: Respectfully, other ranches could never.

Jet’s Pizza is famous for its Detroit-style deep dish and an attitude to match. The brand proudly lives by one rule: it’s not pizza, it’s Jet’s. I wrote this radio spot to lean into that bold, playful voice while spotlighting the slices fans crave most.
Writing a Jet’s Pizza e-blast is all about getting to the point fast. The copy has to sound bold, real, and a little hungry (just like the brand). I wrote so every line would make you want to click “order now” without overthinking it.
